Patriotic Sing

Thursday, July 3rd at Britton Middle School, Downtown Morgan Hill—6pm

Directed by Karen Crane, a long time Morgan Hill music enthusiast, this Patriotic Sing-Along features local children singing patriotic classics on the eve of Independence Day. Expect renditions of American standbys like "America, the Beautiful," “God Bless America," "You're a Grand Old Flag," and "This Land is Your Land.”

Annual Street Dance and Live Concert

Thursday, July 3rd_in Downtown Morgan Hill—7pm

One of Morgan Hill's most popular nights on the town, the annual Independence Day Street Dance has been held downtown since 1992. Featuring live rock bands, dancing, food and beverages, this family friendly summer celebration is expected to draw a crowd of thousands. While downtown, also check out the Memorial Area, located in the middle of the downtown street divider, dedicated to the memories of local men and women who have lost their lives in service to our country.

Freedom 5-K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile

Taking place along the 4th of July Parade route, the profits of this 5-K Run are used to support Morgan Hill’s various Independence Day celebrations. There will also be a Kids 1 Mile for participates aged 11 and under. Special awards will be given for runners with the most patriotic costumes.

The Historic Morgan Hill 4th of July Parade

Friday, July 4th._Parade Starts in Downtown Morgan Hill - 10:00am

The official parade of Santa Clara County and the largest privately organized parade in Northern California, the Morgan Hill Fourth of July Parade is quite a sight to see. From police officers on horseback to spandex-clad dance troops, over 300 groups will march in this award-winning yearly parade. More than 40,000 people are expected to attend, and Morgan Hill’s July Fourth parade is so popular that it’s not uncommon for parade-goers to lay claim to prime route side spots days in advance, roping off small bits of downtown sidewalk and chaining beach chairs to trees to ensure they get the best view of the procession. This year’s event will be the 114 Fourth of July parade the town has put on since its inception in 1894.

Downtown Family Festival, Live Entertainment and Car Show

Friday, July 4th in Downtown Morgan Hill - 11:30am to 2:30 pm

Pre-Fireworks Entertainment - Friday, July 4th_at Morgan Hill Community Park - 6pm Live bands and music will entertain the fireworks crowd that gathers at Community Park Friday evening.

Fireworks Extravaganza

Friday, July 4th_at Morgan Hill Community Park, located on Edmundson, near Monterey Road – Starts at dark, around 9:30pm

The conclusion of Morgan Hill’s Independence Day celebrations, the popular Fireworks Extravaganza is coordinated by Tim Gall, the Independence Day Inc. Fireworks Committee Chairman. Working with local Firefighters, Police Departments and licensed pyrotechnicians, Gall and a group of local pyrotechnics enthusiasts work for months to make Morgan Hill’s fireworks display both awe-inspiring and safe. And for those who don’t want to battle the fireworks crowd at Community Park, there is always a small crowd that gathers annually at Paradise Park on La Crosse Drive to partake in the fireworks, albeit from a less intense distance.
