The VTA will be making significant changes to their bus service in Morgan Hill, eliminating some lines entirely and increasing the frequency of others.
Under the proposed changes that will take effect this summer, the 68 bus line will be increasing frequency from every half hour to every 15 minutes. The popular 68 line runs from the Gilroy Transit Center, through Morgan Hill and Coyote Valley, to the San Jose Diridon Station.
Beginning in July, Bus Line 15, which runs from Dunne and Jackson Oaks to the Morgan Hill Civic Center, will be cut entirely due to low ridership. Other South County bus lines, like Lines 14, 16, 17, 18 and 19, will experience both minor and major changes in service and stops.
The VTA will be holding two public meetings in South County on Jan. 29 to discuss these planned changes in service.
The first meeting will take place at 4pm at the Morgan Hill Community and Cultural Center Hiram Morgan Hill Room. The address is 17000 Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, which is served by VTA Bus Line 68.
The second public meeting will take place later that evening at the Gilroy City Hall Council Chambers at 7pm. The address is 7351 Rosanna Street in Gilroy, which is served by VTA Bus Line 19.
