The long awaited and highly anticipated Morgan Hill Skate Park will officially be open to the public on June 27, 2009. A brand new 15,000-square-foot facility designed for beginner skaters, advanced skaters and BMX riders, the park features street style elements, a bowl and a flow course.

The grand opening celebration, beginning at 3pm, will include a meet and greet with pro skateboarder Steve Caballero, an appearance by the FOX BMX team, skating demonstrations. The event is also held in conjunction with annual Morgan Hill Youth Advisory Committee Roofless Teen Band Concert at the Centennial Recreation Center.

The new skate park was funded through a combination of the City of Morgan Hill Redevelopment Agency, a grant from the State Department of Recreation and private funds through donations. The park is conveniently located adjacent to the Centennial Recreation Center and Community Park at 171 W. Edmundson Street in Morgan Hill.

Morgan Hill Skate Park is managed by the City’s Recreation and Community Services Department. People can skate daily from 8am to sunset, and safety equipment is required.
