Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (25-1-1, 17 KO's) has withdrawn from his first boxing match of 2010. The IBF Junior lightweight titlist is by his wife's side as she takes on a far more deadly opponent than Michael Katsidis.

For the last two years Casey Guerrero, 26, has been battling leukemia. She was in remission until early 2009 when the cancer returned. A bone marrow match was found and at the end of January for Casey, who entered the hospital for a transplant. She has remained there for several days fighting infections.

It's been a along battle for the young couple, and Guerrero believes he is not mentally prepared to offer the fight everyone was waiting for on March 27, 2010.

"My mind wouldn't be at 100 percent, and to fight a warrior like him you have to be at your best psychologically," Guerrero said a statement asking for the boxing community's support and prayers for his wife.

They are still waiting to see how her body will respond to the bone marrow.

"I'm asking everyone in the boxing community along with family, friends and the general public to keep Casey in their prayers. I will continue to keep my faith in Jesus Christ and pray for understanding," he said.

Robert and Casey were high school sweethearts who married in 2005. Guerrero first learned of his wife's illness days before a title defense in Arizona against Martin Honorio (24-3-1, 13 KOs). The 56 second match in 2007 ended with Honorio knocked out and Guerrero on the first flight home.

Guerrero's last fight was in August when he won the IBF 130-pound title from Malcolm Klassen.
